1. ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL

History : The present  St. Joseph School was started by some  local parents and was run and managed by them. The people of Jiaganj intended for a school run by the missionaries. With this wish  they approached Fr. Badol Ghosh, the then Parish Priest of  Darafnagar and  revealed their aspiration.  In the year 2005, on 6th January the school was formally and ceremoniously taken over by the diocese of Krishnagar. The diocese of  Krishnagar has bought a land in Jiaganj and  is working towards building a proper school building. St. Joseph School is an English Medium school administered by the Diocese of Krishnagar. The aim of the school is to impart sound education and to inculcate in its students discipline, virtue and self efficiency. Its motto is to educate students “For God and Country”. We can not ignore the valuable contribution of Fr.. Pascal Punno Mallick, towards the school since its commencement. At present Rev. Fr. Sanjay Mondol is incharge and Principal of the School.
